Last Friday night, Counter Culture Coffee and artist Matt Plett came to our studio for an evening of education, conversation, and some damn good coffee.
Fresh off a cupping session at Fortezza, Josh from Counter Culture gave two talks, making the sometimes intimidating topic accessible and fun. He discussed the history of coffee, Counter Culture’s approach to direct trade, and their #AnyCoffeeAnyBrew campaign–challenging the notion that you need to pair specific beans with a particular brewing method to make a good cup of coffee.
Between the talks people enjoyed good conversation, tasty dogs from Bravas, and Matt Plett’s work–a mix of hand lettering and vintage backgrounds that is creative, fun, and downright handsome.
The night was intimate, informative, and an all-around good time. Just the way we like it.
