Getting to the Heart of the Matter

At Anchor Films, we believe authentic stories can be exceptionally compelling. The goal of this film for the Parkview Foundation was to tell true stories of patients the Foundation has assisted, narrated by staff members and using actors as stand-ins to safeguard patient privacy.

One of these stories belongs to Fernando Tarango, a musician who serves the Foundation through its Healing Arts Program. Tarango talks about what it means to him to be able to serve families at their most difficult moments–the essence of the Foundation’s work.

“When I see the smile on someone’s face, or when I see the relief from the pain that they’re in…that, to me, says that this organization values healing,” Tarango says, revealing the heart of the story and underscoring the broader message of the film.

Not only does the film capture the heart of the Parkview Foundation, but it also tangibly demonstrates the value that the organization brings to those it serves.

“The Foundation and its donors are the guardian angels,” adds Rev. Anne Lantz, director of chaplaincy services at Parkview Health. With the resources the Foundation brings in, she continues, “We’re just able to take care of needs.”

Connecting the dots between donor dollars and services is a valuable part of the nonprofit’s marketing strategy. At just over four minutes, this is one of the longer pieces we’ve done; we think you’ll find that every second is worth it.
