Mixing with MultiTracks
MultiTracks is an innovative music resource that allows worship leaders to supplement their own bands’ performances by mixing in parts of pre-recorded tracks and adjusting loops in real-time. This is a game-changer for live sets, and the company wanted to showcase the value it brings. That’s when we got involved.
We teamed up with MultiTracks and music powerhouse Sweetwater to shoot a series of training videos, highlighting the product in-use. MultiTracks rep Will Doggett led the sessions, which feature guest appearances by Peter James (Hillsong); Ian McIntosh (Jesus Culture); and Texas-based recording artists The Digital Age.
You can’t just talk about a product like this–you’ve got to show it off. In these videos, world-class artists do just that, demonstrating how they take their live performances to the next level. We’re talking everything from video and lighting control to patching in audio and programming shows. Check out the full range of topics here.
With all this great talent around, we decided to put together a side project that would feature MultiTracks software ‘in the wild,’ so to speak. So we talked with The Digital Age about creating a simulated live performance video with the help of MultiTracks. 10 takes and a couple dozen angles later, we cut together the video above, for their song “Captured.” Dynamic camera moves were shot using our Movi stabilization system, and because MultiTracks also includes a click-track to steady the tempo, we were able to seamlessly blend the various angles and takes without any timing issues.
The style of these films, plus the top-tier performers, made it possible for us to showcase MultiTracks in a way that is both compelling and informative. What creative solutions could work for your needs?
