All Dressed Up

07 Jan 2015 | Day to Day

We believe that everything we do should reflect our character. It should tell you that we’re serious about our craft, we never half-ass anything, and we’ve got a fire in our belly that just won’t go out.

So when we took an honest look at ourselves, it was apparent our site wasn’t up to snuff–it was clean, which we like, easy to navigate, which we also like, but it wasn’t Anchor Films. It didn’t feel the way it feels when you walk into our studio and slide into a seat at the bar.

Matt Plett: Undefeatable

20 Oct 2014 | Artist Profile

Like most high schoolers, designer and illustrator Matthew Plett’s life had a soundtrack. But unlike most of his classmates who connected through punk rock or 90s emo, his was flush with hip hop.

“It was so in your face,” he said. “I was like, ‘this is awesome.’”

Now a 30-something father of two, Plett’s life has changed in major ways, but his soundtrack is the same.

Counter Culture

Last Friday night, Counter Culture Coffee and artist Matt Plett came to our studio for an evening of education, conversation, and some damn good coffee.

Fresh off a cupping session at Fortezza Coffee, Josh from Counter Culture gave two coffee talks, making the sometimes intimidating topic very accessible and fun. If you know anything about the Anchor Films team, you know that we love great craftsmanship. So when it came time to upgrade the sign on the outside of our building, we sought out the quintessential craftsman – an old-fashioned sign painter.

Phresh Laundry Hangs at Anchor Films

03 Jul 2014 | Events

Last Friday evening, we hosted Theoplis Smith of Phresh Laundry for an art show in our studio. We love his style, but more than that, we love his role in the community. Theo is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet, and his work has a way of bringing people from all walks of life together to share an experience.

At the Speed of Life

07 Apr 2014 | Work

Visit Fort Wayne was looking for an interesting way to market the city and its convention capabilities. The Grand Wayne Convention Center was looking for a way to set itself apart from their competition. When we pitched the idea of meeting both of these needs with a unique, timelapse-heavy film, it just made sense.
